Why a new Fire Station?

Why expand the current station?

Safety: firefighters store and don gear next to the apparatus, risking contamination and injury from moving vehicles.

Size: fire trucks are getting larger with each model; we lack storage for equipment and inadequate space for training activities.

Service: lack of space hinders our ability to effectively meet the community’s needs now and for the future.

Why this location?

    • Expanding the old station is cost-effective.
    • The land is already owned by Orange City
    • The central location enables fast response
    • The building will be a visual cornerstone for the community

When was the current station built?

Completed in 1971. Was designed to last 20 years.
