The Orange City Fire Department (OCFD) responded to the Blue Mountain Smokehouse Grille (BMSG) at 3:16 AM on Wednesday March 2. On arrival the OCFD had visible smoke and flames from the south east side of the BMSG. The most probable cause is spontaneous combustion of recently laundered rags. OCFD Fire Chief Denny Vander Wel reports that the rags generated heat after they were taken out of the dryer and put into a container. The fire has been ruled as an accident. The OCFD was assisted by the Alton Fire Department, Sioux Center Fire Department, Iowa Fire Marshall's Office, Orange City Ambulance, Orange City Police Department, Sioux County Sheriff Department and OC utilities.
